Thirteen members were present at roll call; Council Member Price was absent for the vote on Items 14-16. Public Comment
Public comment was limited to Item 1 (the Japanese American National Museum bond financing) plus general comment. Kathy Shriner, president of the Venice Neighborhood Council, spoke in support of Item 1 and separately raised concerns about the mayor's proposed budget cutting neighborhood council funding by roughly 22%, from $32,000 to about $25,000 annually, warning it would curtail neighborhood purpose grants and community projects.
